Summer is in full swing!
All lessons start this week! And with the start of lessons, we have some fun activities for the kiddos! Arts and Crafts on the clubhouse deck begins Monday and will continue Monday-Friday from 10am-12pm until August 18th. We will also have CPL’s pop-up library join us on Monday from 10-11am. All visits are weather dependent. They will be here with summer reading materials.
Family Trivia Night will be held on Thursday, June 30th at 6:30 pm. $10 entry fee per team. There will be prizes! This should be a fun event for all!
Looking for some adult fitness and social activities?! Our adult tennis and swim events start this week– see below for more details!
We have some wonderful volunteers working on creating a membership directory for all members. The directory will allow for members to connect with each other outside of the club, especially during the winter months. Please complete the Russell Mill Membership Directory Google Form by July 1st. Once the directory is published, it will be available in print or digital form.
Lastly, we’d like to take this opportunity to communicate some necessary safety and etiquette information as a reminder for returning members and also to educate our newest members. At anytime, you may access our member handbook on the Member’s Corner of our website. The password is RMDOCS2022. This document should answer many of your questions regarding club safety and protocols.
We hope you have noticed the care we take in our facilities and grounds. We’d like to remind you that children should be supervised by an adult when at the club. Any child under 6 years of age should be accompained by an adult in our bathrooms. Also, please see Andy’s email from earlier in the weekend describing tennis courts rules. Thank you for helping us keep our club safe and clean for all!
All swim and dive lessons will begin this week! Coach Craig and his staff cannot wait to welcome new and returning members! Be patient during this first week as they may need to make some changes or shuffles to ensure everyone is properly placed in the correct lesson level and numbers are as balanced, as possible. Our staff will have a table set up on the pool deck for the first few days to help answer any questions and to help make any changes to lessons on esoft. Please email Andy Shupe, manager@russellmill.com with any last minute lesson changes you may need.
The first week of practices went well! We know a lot of kids were finishing up school and activities, so we are excited to have everyone in the pool this week. Coach Craig will be holding an parent meeting at 10:30 am on 6/30. This meeting is helpful for all members to learn about the season and how we can all pitch in to make it successful!
Thank you for those members who have already signed up to volunteer! In order to run a swim meet, we need many parent volunteers. We ask that each family tries to volunteer a minimum of two times if their child participates on the swim team. Click here to volunteer!
The courts are READY for play! We are so happy with how awesome they look and now, we’re ready to take advantage of the new surface, too!
All teams and lessons start this week! Coach Dave and his staff are ready to teach you and elevate your skills. Click here for the 2022 Tennis Team Schedule.
We have partnered with SwimOutlet.com for our 2022 Swim & Tennis team gear. Gear is not required to participate on the teams or during team events, but it is a fun way to support the club. Purchases can be made: https://www.swimoutlet.com/russellmill/ and prices vary based on swim outlet deals.
Our adult tennis and pickleball activities start up this week. On Wednesday, June 29th, we will have Coffee and Tennis from 7-8 am. Every Wednesday, come pick up a game and get to know other members who share a love of tennis.
On Thursday, June 30th and continuing every Thursday evening from 7-9:30pm we will have an adult social night. From 7-8:30, Coach Dave will be available to teach the game (tennis and/or pickleball) to those who are new to the sport while our more experienced members pick up some matches. All ability levels welcome! Afterwards, we will have a BYOB and BYOsnacks on our clubhouse deck from 8:30-9:30pm.
We would also like to announce the start of our adult swim program! On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-8pm, we will be holding adult swim practices in the two lap lanes. We will be using Coach Craig’s practice workouts as a guide for the hour. On Saturdays at 10am, we will host all ability levels for a one-hour practice. This practice will have a variety of workouts available.
Use of fins are allowed, but not provided.
Season Hours – Mon-Fri 12:00-8:00 pm Saturday & Sunday 11:00am – 8:00pm.
Entering and Exiting the Club – This cannot be stressed enough. The driveway closest to the clubhouse is the entrance. The driveway closest to the dumpster is the exit. Please inform your guests of this before their arrival.
Check-In Location – upon entering the club your family needs to check in with the greeter. If you have guests there is a $10 per guest fee. You can purchase the pass ahead of time online https://russellmill.com/product/guest-pass-online/. Please be prepared to provide the greeter with the names of the members checking in daily.
Glass – Glass is not allowed on the pool deck. We have plastic cups in the office if you forget yours. Broken glass that gets in the pool is a serious situation that at minimum results in closure of the pool for multiple hours to ensure proper removal.
Trash – Please help us keep the club clean. Please take a moment to scan your tables, under your chairs etc. for trash before you leave.
