End of Season Kick off Party- Tomorrow, from 12:30-1:30. We will have tie dye, music, a cold treat, and team gifts for all tennis, dive, and swim team members. This year’s tie dye will be our team colors! We encourage shirts and team gifts to be worn at championships this week- and, at the banquet on Sunday! Come celebrate mighty, mighty Russell Mill! Remember to bring your own white shirt! All members are welcome to join the tie-dye.

Dive-In Movie! This year, we will be showing The Goonies! Grab your float and join us in the shallow end on Wednesday at 7:30pm/dusk to enjoy this 80’s classic! $5 per person, $20 family cap.

RM TEAM BANQUET-On Sunday, August 14th at 5pm. This is a great time to recognize and honor all of the work our coaches, athletes, and parents have put forth this summer!  The banquet is free. The picnic area will open at 4pm for seating. In addition to our coaches’ speeches, awards, and team gifts, we will have a DJ. Food will be the responsibility of each family. We will have Heavenly Dogs at the club if you would like to purchase dinner, or you can pack your own food, use the grills, order take-out, whatever you choose. RSVP HERE.

Attention All Members: The picnic area and clubhouse will be closed at 4pm for this event, but the pool will remain open for all.

Whiffle Ball!  The club has purchased the materials and constructed a Whiffle Ball Strike Zone along with bats and balls.  In recognition of the large number of children that have enjoyed playing tennis baseball game, we’d like to offer an alternative. Our feeling is that the whiffle balls will not travel as far or as fast as tennis balls and should be able to be safely played in the areas behind the blockhouse.

In addition to the above events, the CPL’s pop-up library will return Monday at 10am and their last visit with us will be next Tuesday at 11am. Make sure you return all books in a timely fashion! We hope to have them visit again next year!

Swim & Dive Updates

Champs Week!

Follow The Swim Team

It’s championship week!

Dive Championships will be held at Russell Mill on Tuesday August 9th.  We will warm up from 1:30-2:00PM . The dive meet will begin as close to 3 PM as possible.  We will dive all 12 and under divers then break for awards.  We will continue with the 13 and over divers after and end with the awards and trophy presentation.  Diving is a separate meet from swim champs so diving does not take away from a swim event.  All entries will be taken care of through Erin and Alex.

The 6 & Under Champs will be on Thursday, August 11th at Cedardale. Warm-up is at 10:30 AM with an anticipated start time of 11:00 AM. There is an ice cream party for the participating swimmers only, directly after and then all the ribbons and medals (top 6 places only) will be given out. All the swimmers will stay with the coaches on the side of the pool during the event, so this is a great opportunity for our 6 and under parents to volunteer to time (and it will be a very quick meet).

The final part of the championships will be on Saturday August 13th at Cedardale. We will be warming up at 7:45 AM so please try and be there around 7:15 AM. (Please note that their facility does not open until 7AM so please do not arrive prior.) The meet is slated to start at 8:15 AMPLEASE NOTE: that there is an entry fee for all spectators (athletes, officials, and timers do not pay – We have to submit the volunteer list prior so please sign up to volunteer on sign up genius )

Coach Craig has sent out the intial entries, so please check it and let him know ASAP if your swimmer/diver will not be at the meet or if they were not included in the initial entries.

Coaches Gifts– We are collecting money for a voluntary gift for our dedicated coaches. The money collected will be used to purchase gift cards for the coaches.  There is not a required amount, but as many people like guidelines, we usually recommend $10/child, with a $20 family cap for each team.  However, anything you want to give is great, and we’re sure it will be appreciated.  The card we give will simply say thank you from the swim, dive or tennis families.

If you would like to contribute, we will be collecting money any time between now and August 10th. We put envelopes at the greeters station marked “Coaches Gift Collection”, one for each team, where you can put your contribution.  Angela Hughes will also be collecting money via Venmo (for swim/dive @Angela-Hughes-32 and for tennis team @Kathryn-Bourgeois)) or PayPal ( If paying via Venmo or PayPal, please specify which team the donation should go to.

Youth Tennis Updates

We are in our final weeks of lessons! The last day of lessons on Thursday, August 18th.

Tennis team members, please join us to celebrate the end of season at the celebration on Monday and the banquet on Sunday! See details above. If you’d like to contribute to the coaches’ gift, please leave cash in the marked envelope in the office or venmo @Kathryn-Bourgeois.
