It’s hard to believe we are heading into August! We have a lot planned to kick off our last month at RM!
This week, we have Kids’ Bingo on Monday from 12:30-1:30pm, Zentangle (Drawing Class) for Kids on Tuesday 12-12:45 for ages 10+ and 1-1:30 for ages 6-10, and our annual pancake breakfast on Wednesday from 9-11am. Join us up on the clubhouse deck for (free) Kids Bingo! There will be 5 rounds with chances to win prizes. So, what’s Zentangle for Kids? Zentangle is an easy-to-learn, fun, and relaxing practice of creating art with patterns. No previous experience necessary! Please sign up here for the (free) correct age-group class! Pancakes, anyone? Join us up on the clubhouse deck anytime between 9-11am on Wednesday for a delicious breakfast! $3 per person! Proceeds go to help fund our End of Season Banquet.
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: We have a few events coming up that may impact club use. On Tuesday, August 9th we have our diving championships held at our club. The diving area will be closed starting at 1pm and throughout the afternoon. Summer dive, swim, and tennis banquet will be on Sunday, August 14th at 5pm. The clubhouse and picnic area will be closed starting at 4 for this event. We hope to see you there to celebrate our 2022 season!
Since we are heading into our last month, we’d like to take this time to remind members of a few rules at the pool. For kids to be present at the club without parents, they need to be 12 years or older. Please help support our lifeguards and staff by following the rules and listening to staff when spoken to about safety. If there is an activity that may cause harm or potential harm to members, a staff member has the authority to end the activity.
Dive Championships will be held at Russell Mill on Tuesday August 9th. We will warm up from 1:30-2:00PM . The dive meet will begin as close to 3 PM as possible. We will dive all 12 and under divers then break for awards. We will continue with the 13 and over divers after and end with the awards and trophy presentation. Diving is a separate meet from swim champs so diving does not take away from a swim event. All entries will be taken care of through Erin and Alex.
The 6 & Under Champs will be on Thursday, August 11th at Cedardale. Warm up is at 10:30 AM with an anticipated start time of 11:00 AM. There is an ice cream party for the participating swimmers only directly after and then all the ribbons and medals (top 6 places only) will be given out right then. All the swimmers will stay with the coaches on the side of the pool during the event, so this is a great opportunity for our 6 and under parents to volunteer to time (and it will be a very quick meet).
The rest of the swim championships will be on Saturday August 13th at Cedardale. We will be warming up at 7:45 AM so please try and be there around 7:15 AM. (Please note that their facility does not open until 7AM so please do not arrive prior.) The meet is slated to start at 8:15 AM. PLEASE NOTE: that there is an entry fee for all spectators (athletes, officials, and timers do not pay – I have to submit the volunteer list prior so please sign up to volunteer on sign up genius )
Coach Craig has sent out the intial entries, so please check it and let him know ASAP if your swimmer/diver will not be at the meet or if they were not included in the initial entries.
The boys and girls A teams finished strong this week against CS&T! As well as, the B team! Thanks to all players and parents for making it a fun, successful season.
And, that’s a wrap! We want to thank Coach Dave and his crew for getting our tennis team programming up and running again! We look forward to our 2023 season next year!
Each week, we see new faces on the courts! If you haven’t had a chance to try our adult activities, come on down! It’s a lot of fun.
On Wednesday, there is Coffee and Tennis from 7-8am. On Thursday evening, it’s pickleball and tennis social night from 7-9:30pm. This Friday, Dave will be hosting adult cardio tennis at 8 am and pickleball at 8:30am. Please join us if you can!
Like tennis, we keep seeing new faces join us in the pool! It’s been a lot of fun and a great workout, too. Clewis and Kate will be hosting practice on Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8pm and Saturday from 10:30-11:30am.
Parent Supervision- To stay at the club without an adult, your child MUST be 12 and over.
Entering and Exiting the Club – This cannot be stressed enough. The driveway closest to the clubhouse is the entrance. The driveway closest to the dumpster is the exit. Please inform your guests of this before their arrival.
Check-In Location – upon entering the club your family needs to check in with the greeter. If you have guests there is a $10 per guest fee. You can purchase the pass ahead of time online https://russellmill.com/product/guest-pass-online/. Please be prepared to provide the greeter with the names of the members checking in daily.
Glass – Glass is not allowed on the pool deck. We have plastic cups in the office if you forget yours. Broken glass that gets in the pool is a serious situation that at minimum results in closure of the pool for multiple hours to ensure proper removal.
Trash – Please help us keep the club clean. Please take a moment to scan your tables, under your chairs etc. for trash before you leave.
