It's Finally Here...
Opening Weekend!

Russell Mill News

Welcome back!!  It feels so good to say that! The Board and Staff have been working hard to ready the club for our opening weekend.  It’s hard to believe the last time things felt “normal” at the Mill was in 2019, that feels like a lifetime ago!  Many things are the same, which feels great after such a strange time, but we have a few new things to tell you about as well so be sure to read on.  We will be using this newsletter format this year and will be posting all newsletters on the website on the Members Corner.  In our next newslettter we will have more information about our social calendar for the year, additional info on the swim/tennis/dive season, deck rentals and much more!

Opening Weekend – Memorial Day Weekend is the opening weekend!  Russell Mill will be open on Saturday from 11:00-6:00pm, Sunday 11:00am-6:00pm, and Monday from 11:00am-6:00pm.  Please be sure to check in at the greeter station every time you enter the club! The greeter station is the first window as you enter through the gate.  The greeter will check you in by last name. Thanks for following this process each time you enter!

Guest Passes Are Back – We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming guests back to our facility this year.  Please be sure to register your guests at the front desk.  There is an electronic waiver that each guest will need to fill out as well as a $5 per person fee.

Come Join Our Family Fun Fest this weekend!

There will be a lot of fun and exciting family events during the weekend, including food trucks, family friendly relay races and diving board games, a scavenger hunt, music and more!  On Saturday we will have Kona Ice and Heavenly Dogs from 11:00-3:00, and Sunday we will have Hawiian Shave Ice with comfort food offerings.

Spring Meeting Reminder – We will have our annual Spring Membership Meeting this Wednesday, May 26th at 7:00pm via Zoom. We have found a remarkable improvement in attendance by holding virtual meetings for our members, so we would like to continue with this format for now. We will vote on the 2021 budget, please attend! Here is the link to the zoom meeting –  https://zoom.us/s/95779229491#success

COVID Safety Reminders – The current CDC, state, and local guidelines will allow Russell Mill to look as close to “normal” as we have seen in a long time – and we are so excited for this step forward!  We ask that if you are exhibiting COVID symptoms or you have been exposed and are not vaccinated,  that you please stay home. We encourage all of our members to use a mask when social distancing is not possible and if you are not vaccinated as well as while entering the club and while using the restrooms.

Trash – Last year we were a “Pack In, Pack Out” club, and it was incredible how clean the club was!  Although we will have trash cans back at the club this year we are hoping that members will be more aware and conscientious of cleaning their surroundings.  Trash, especially food left from the grills, attracts critters at night and bees during the day.  Even when the staff empties the trash on a regular basis, it still remains a problem.  PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF and keep our club clean! We will have plastic trash bags available for your convenience as you check in, or anytime you request one, from the office.

Lost and Found – Last year we emptied the Lost and Found at the end of each day, and much like the trash, it had a remarkable impact on the cleanliness of the club.  This year we will empty the lost and found every Friday. Staff members are going to try and make announcements reminding members to check for all of their items as they pack up for the day.  Please be sure you leave the club carrying  everything you arrived with!

Entering and Exiting the Club – This cannot be stressed enough. The driveway closest to the clubhouse is the entrance. The driveway closest to the dumpster is the exit. Please inform your guests of this before their arrival.

Don’t Forget to Check-In! –  upon entering the club your family needs to check in with the greeter.  If you have guests there is a $5 per guest fee.  Guests will need to sign an electronic waiver upon entering the club.

Glass – Glass is not allowed on the pool deck. We have plastic cups in the office if you forget yours. Broken glass that gets in the pool is a serious situation that at minimum results in closure of the pool for multiple hours to ensure proper removal. In extreme cases, drainage is required

Trash – Please help us keep the club clean. We operate with a small maintenance staff. Please assist us by using the proper trash receptacles. If you notice one is full, alert a staff member.  Please take a moment to scan your tables, under your chairs etc. for trash before you leave.
