Russell Mill News

Thanks to all who attended and helped out at out Grand Opening party last weekend.  We are so excited for our first season with our new pool.  Many of you had the opportunity to meet our new head tennis coach Jesse Gaboury.  He is a fantastic addition and we are confident the kids are going to have a great time with him and the staff from New England Tennis Center this summer.

We have made many updates to the Members Corner on the website. Please use this page whenever you are looking for information on tennis, swim, dive, social events or anything else that you may need throughout the season.  You can even find old newsletters there in case you missed something.  Speaking of newsletters, we will be sending out a weekly email full of useful information.  Hopefully you will find this new format user friendly.

**Please note that the Baby Pool area is for children 6 and under and all children must be accompanied by a parent at all times.  There is no lifeguard on duty in the baby pool and it is the parents responsibility to be with your child in this area. Also, when entering and exiting this area please be sure to close the gate behind you to prevent other children from entering/exiting this area.  If you see older children or children unattended in the baby pool please alert a lifeguard or manager.  Thank you!**

Last, please note that this Friday is the deadline for ordering any Russell Mill swag!  We have removed the caps and swimsuits as the deadline for those items has passed, but there is still time to order tshirts, sweatshirts, towels and more!!  Order here:

Swim & Dive Updates

Follow the Swim Team on Instagram

Welcome to the 2019 summer swim & dive season!  The schedule is out!!  You will find upcoming events listed here in the newsletter, but for a list of all events visit the swim or dive section on the members corner page.  We have also updated the meet attendance form.  If you know in advance that your swimmer will not be swimming in a particular meet please fill out the form at least 48 hours before the meet so the coaches can adjust the roster accordingly.  The coaches spend alot of time making the rosters for each meet and late withdrawals cause alot of work for them.  Thank you in advance for submitting your information as soon as you can.  Very soon we will send out information on volunteering at the home and championship meets.  All meets take many volunteers to make them run smoothly.  Please make every effort to volunteer for our meets.  More info on this coming soon!

Swim and Dive team practice for all groups will start on Monday, June 17th.

Swim and Dive lessons will start on Wednesday, June 19th.

Youth Tennis Updates

We are excited to start the season with our new partner, New England Tennis Center.  You will see many changes to the program this year.  NETC uses smaller court sizes and slower balls when teaching young children who are just starting their tennis journey.  This means we are able to have more children on the courts then we have in the past.  You may have noticed when you signed your child up for lessons that we now have 2 age groups: Ages 5-12 and 13 and over.  Within these 2 age groups the tennis staff will further break the groups down according to age and ability level.   This is very different than our groupings in the past but very much inline with how NETC runs their very successful programs.  There are 2 major changes to our tennis program this year that you should note:

  1. We will be allowing kids to sign up for BOTH Monday/Wednesday AND Tues/Thursday lessons.  Because we have more space on the courts we are able to allow kids who want a little more tennis, 4 days worth of lessons.  The cost is still $40 per block of lessons ($40 for Mon/Weds, $40 Tues/Thurs, for a total of $80 for 4 days/week for an 8 week period).  If you would like to add an additional block of tennis for your child please log in to esoft and sign up for the additional days.  PLEASE NOTE THIS ONLY APPLIES TO TENNIS, NOT SWIM OR DIVE LESSONS.
  2. There are 2 TIME SLOTS available for the 5 – 12 age group.  We will be offering a session from 9:00 – 10:00 and 10:00 – 11:00.  This will give members the ability to pick a tennis lesson that fits with possible swim/dive schedules.

If you need to make changes to your child(ren) existing schedule please contact us directly at manager@russellmill.com and we will assist you.  Also, while using the tennis courts we ask that all children have a shirt and sneakers on.  Please be courteous to other members when using the courts.  If a court is in use, please wait until a break in play occurs before walking behind.  Thank you!

We are waiting for the schedule for the tennis teams and hope to send more information about this very soon!

Adult Tennis Updates

We are very excited to add adult programs to our schedule this year.  NETC will be running a number of adult offerings this summer.  We hope to have specific date and time information out soon.  Here are some of the programs we will be offering this summer:

Upcoming Adult Tennis Events

Upcoming Social Events

Preseason Hours – Mon-Thurs – 3:00pm -6:00pm, Friday 3:00pm – 6:00pm, Saturday & Sunday 11:00am – 6:00pm.

Entering and Exiting the Club – This cannot be stressed enough. The driveway closest to the clubhouse is the entrance. The driveway closest to the dumpster is the exit. Please inform your guests of this before their arrival.

New Check-In Location –  upon entering the club your family needs to check in with the greeter.  If you have guests there is a $5 per guest fee.  Please be prepared to provide the greeter with the names of the members checking in daily.  The greeters station has moved to a window near the office doors.

Glass – Glass is not allowed on the pool deck. We have plastic cups in the office if you forget yours. Broken glass that gets in the pool is a serious situation that at minimum results in closure of the pool for multiple hours to ensure proper removal. In extreme cases, drainage is required

Trash – Please help us keep the club clean. We operate with a small maintenance staff. Please assist us by using the proper trash receptacles. If you notice one is full, alert a staff member.  Please take a moment to scan your tables, under your chairs etc. for trash before you leave.

Handbook & Bylaws – Our important docs are now password protected on the website:  Please click here and read the documents and understand the rules of the club.  If you need the password please email us at membership@russellmill.com and we will provide you with this password for this season.  http://russellmill.com/documents/
